Fender Road Worn review!!!, 01:26 AM. Got to try out the entire line of the new fender road worn series and Im here. The neck profiles are fairly accurate to their respective years of influence, a V neck for the 50's model, a nice mid C for the 60s, and a nice hefty U for the Tele. The pickups definitely catch the vintage vibe. '50s Road Worn Telecaster With its single-ply white scratchplate and unthreaded steel saddles this ash-bodied Tele is modelled more on a mid-fifties example rather than the early fifties Nocaster that's been the mainstay of Fender's Time Machine series for many years.
Product DescriptionThe Road Worn 50s P-Bass is based on classic Fender instruments of the 1950s and production methods invented at the world-renowned Fender Custom Shop. The irresistibly cool look of finish worn through to the wood, rusted hardware, a bruised neck and yellowing plastic parts are yours right away with Road Worn instruments. The Road Worn ’50s Precision Bass sounds, looks and feels like it’s been there and back, has more than a few miles on it, and then some. Product RatingProduct ReviewThis bass is simply amazing in every way. The build quality and finishing is outstanding, with great attention to detail. It was setup perfectly when it arrived, and was even perfectly in tune. The neck is comfortable and smooth, and feels like it's been played for decades. Even though this bass has been 'reliced' from the factory and is 'new', it feels like you would expect an old bass to feel.
This bass feels amazing to hold and play, and I was actually surprised at how light it weighs. Very comfortable, and fits great when using a strap. The tones you can get are the unmistakable classic Fender Precision tones. Totally perfect.
I've owned at least 20 basses over the years, many of them considered 'high end' basses. This one is easily in the top 3 of favorites. Product ReviewThis was a great surprise as a gift from my wife; she knew that i had been eyeing it for some time. The road worn is not severe or overdone as if a gorilla had played it. The relicing is appropriate the worn finish has a wonderful wood look and it glows with warmth. The chunky neck feels very comfortable and broken in very smooth. The pickups are very well defined and powerful the tone tapers consistently for bright and very dark.
As usual i did some adjustments to the height of the pickups for my own personal taste, intonation was on the spot. Overall the bass is very light and feels like an old friend in your hands.

Loved my 60's RW except for the neck felt a little small for my large hands. Still sounded like way more guitar than the money, and the nitro finish felt great. Big frets, and even went back to the tex mex pickups after swapping in a few others. Fantastic guitar for the money. The trem on mine had action like butter.
The ones made after 2013 had less of a relic job and I preferred the looks of those. At the same time the 65 AVRI is a superior instrument, and I love that neck carve. Can't go wrong for the money on each.
